Oklahoma City, OK – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across Oklahoma and parts of northern Texas until midnight Tuesday, with snow, ice, and strong winds creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, areas across central, eastern, and southern Oklahoma, along with northern Texas, could see additional snow and sleet accumulations of up to one inch, with ice forming a light glaze on roads and sidewalks. Winds are expected to gust as high as 40 mph, reducing visibility and making travel dangerous.

Cities affected include Oklahoma City, Norman, Lawton, Ardmore, and Tulsa, as well as Wichita Falls, TX. Officials warn that evening commutes will be impacted, with slippery roads and potential delays.

Residents are advised to slow down, use caution while driving, and check local road conditions by calling 511 in Oklahoma or 1-844-465-4997 for real-time updates. Power outages may also occur in areas experiencing freezing rain.

The advisory will remain in place until midnight, with conditions expected to improve by early Wednesday morning.
