Norman, OK – The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of central, western, and southern Oklahoma, in effect from midnight Wednesday night through 3 p.m. Thursday.

Forecasters expect a mix of snow and sleet, producing up to two inches of accumulation in some areas. The advisory includes major cities such as Oklahoma City, Norman, Lawton, Woodward, and Altus, stretching from the Panhandle to southeastern Oklahoma.

According to the Weather Service, slick and hazardous road conditions are likely for the Thursday morning commute, particularly on bridges and untreated roads. Motorists are urged to slow down, maintain extra distance, and plan for longer travel times.

Temperatures will remain near or below freezing through early afternoon before slowly warming. The NWS advises checking Oklahoma road conditions at 844-465-4997 or through OKRoads.org for live updates.

Road treatment crews are expected to be active overnight, but early-morning travel may still be dangerous in areas of heavier snow bands.
