Oklahoma City, OK – A Wind Advisory is in effect across much of Oklahoma today, as the National Weather Service forecasts strong north winds from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph.

The advisory, which will remain in effect until 7 PM CDT, covers a wide range of areas from central Oklahoma to the southwest, southeast, and other regions. Cities such as Oklahoma City, Norman, Tulsa, Lawton, and Anadarko are expected to experience the highest gusts.

According to the National Weather Service, these conditions may lead to dangerous driving, particularly for high-profile vehicles such as trucks and buses. Unsecured objects, including outdoor furniture, may be blown around, and tree limbs could fall, leading to possible power outages in some areas.

Residents are urged to take precautions by securing loose items outdoors and exercising caution while traveling. Drivers, especially in high-profile vehicles, should be extra vigilant and prepared for sudden gusts throughout the day.
