Tulsa, OK – February kicks off with foggy conditions and heightened fire risks across eastern Oklahoma, creating potential hazards for travelers and residents. Motorists should be prepared for reduced visibility Saturday morning, while warm temperatures and gusty winds raise fire concerns later in the day.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, a low chance (10-30%) of dense fog is expected across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas early Saturday. Visibility may drop below half a mile in some areas, affecting travel along major highways, including U.S. 75. Drivers should use low beams, allow extra time, and exercise caution.

By the afternoon, dry air and gusts up to 25 mph will elevate fire danger, particularly in regions west of U.S. 75. The NWS urges residents to properly dispose of cigarettes, avoid parking on dry grass, and limit outdoor burning.

Looking ahead, Sunday and Monday bring a warming trend, with highs reaching 69°F and 76°F, respectively, under mostly sunny skies. Winds will shift southeast, becoming breezy by midweek. A slight cool-down is expected Wednesday, with temperatures dropping into the mid-50s.
