Tulsa, Oklahoma – Sweltering heat and scattered thunderstorms will challenge Tulsa residents through Saturday, with temperatures and humidity combining for heat index values as high as 101°F.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s high near 92°F will feel even hotter, especially during the afternoon. There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms after 1 p.m., and light south winds will shift southwest later in the day. Heat risks persist through the workweek, with mostly sunny skies pushing the heat index to around 100°F again on Wednesday. Nighttime offers little relief, as lows remain in the mid-70s and humidity stays high.

Thursday and Friday will bring more of the same, with highs climbing to 94°F and 95°F. Scattered thunderstorms may develop by Friday afternoon, with a 40 percent chance of rain continuing through Saturday. South winds of 5 to 20 mph could make driving tricky, and brief downpours could impact I-44 and surrounding county roads, particularly during the evening commute.

Residents should limit outdoor activity during peak heat, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Use air conditioning or visit cooling centers if possible. Keep electronic devices charged in case of power outages from storms.

Heat advisories remain in effect through Saturday night, with the next weather update expected Friday morning.
