Oklahoma wakes up to biting air and pale winter sun as Tulsa shivers under a hard February chill. Temperatures hover near 27 degrees late this morning, with a wind chill around 19. Frost clings to rooftops, and shaded sidewalks remain slick.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, skies stay mostly sunny today with a high near 51 degrees. North winds at 5 to 10 mph will ease and turn easterly this afternoon, helping temperatures recover steadily through midday.

Bridges and overpasses may stay icy through late morning.

Drivers along I-44 and the Broken Arrow Expressway should remain cautious where melting refreezes in shaded spots. Late February often brings flash freezing after cold nights, especially when light daytime thawing occurs.

Tonight turns partly cloudy with a low around 38 degrees. Saturday remains mostly sunny and mild, topping out near 49. Clear skies Saturday night allow temperatures to fall back to 28 degrees.

Sunday brings bright sunshine and a high near 51. However, another sharp drop follows after sunset. Lows plunge to 24 degrees Sunday night under clear skies and light north winds.

That hard freeze could impact early Monday travel.

Monday stays sunny but cool, with highs near 49 and a low near 31 Monday night. By Tuesday, warmer air surges in, pushing highs to 67 degrees with gusts up to 30 mph.

Midweek temperatures climb into the mid-70s, signaling a dramatic shift toward spring warmth. The 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal readings across eastern Oklahoma.
