Tulsa, OK – The National Weather Service in Tulsa is tracking an active system expected to bring a mix of rain, storms, and potential winter weather across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas from Friday night through Tuesday, December 2.

According to NWS Tulsa, a strong cold front will move in over the weekend as a low-pressure system lifts out of the Desert Southwest. Forecasters say multiple rounds of precipitation are likely — with storm chances Saturday and Sunday, followed by a possible wintry mix Monday night into Tuesday.

Locally heavy rainfall could impact low-lying areas and roadways, particularly near Tulsa and Fort Smith. The NWS also warns of medium to high uncertainty in precipitation type and timing, depending on the storm track and incoming cold air.

Thanksgiving travelers returning over the weekend should stay alert for changing weather conditions, especially Monday into early Tuesday when colder air could transition rain to sleet or snow.

Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and prepare for possible winter travel impacts early next week.
