Tulsa, OK – Rain is expected to sweep through southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas starting Saturday night, potentially affecting travel and weekend plans. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tulsa predicts precipitation will taper off by Sunday evening.
According to the NWS, the highest rain chances—up to 80%—will occur south of Interstate 40, including areas near McAlester and Hugo. Rainfall totals will generally stay under half an inch, but wet roads could lead to slick driving conditions. Travelers along U.S. 69 and U.S. 271 are advised to remain cautious, particularly on Sunday morning when visibility may be reduced.
Saturday will start sunny in Tulsa, with highs near 57°F, before cloud cover increases in the evening. Temperatures Saturday night will dip to 43°F, accompanied by light south winds. Sunday’s high will reach 58°F, with gusts up to 15 mph as rain moves through the area.
The extended forecast shows calmer conditions early next week. Monday and Tuesday will be partly to mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 50s. Overnight lows will range from 35°F to 44°F. Cooler air returns midweek, with highs near 46°F by Tuesday.
