Tulsa, OK — Gray skies hang low across eastern Oklahoma this morning, a calm before what could be a soggy start to the week. The air feels damp and still, but a change is brewing as clouds deepen and a low-pressure system takes aim at the Southern Plains.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, much of the region will see a quiet start to the weekend with highs near 59°F today and 64°F Sunday. However, a developing storm system over Texas will pull moisture north by late Sunday, bringing showers and thunderstorms into the Tulsa area Sunday night through Monday morning.

Rainfall could become heavy at times, with localized flooding possible in low-lying or poor-drainage areas — especially in southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. The heaviest rain threat will last from late Sunday into early Monday, with a 70–80% chance of precipitation.

Drivers on I-44 and Route 412 should expect reduced visibility, slick pavement, and slower travel conditions during heavier showers. After the system passes Monday evening, skies clear quickly with calmer winds and sunshine returning Tuesday.

Thanksgiving week looks mostly dry and mild, perfect for travelers and early holiday plans. Temperatures will hover near the upper 50s to low 60s, with sunshine dominating through Thursday. However, national weather models hint at colder air returning to the Midwest and Plains by the end of the month — possibly bringing early-season snow chances to northern states as we close out November.
