Tulsa, OK – Drivers across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas may encounter patchy fog early Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa. Visibilities could drop below one mile, especially in valleys and near lakes, before improving after sunrise.

According to forecasters, any fog should dissipate by mid-morning. Scattered, light showers are also possible across parts of northeast Oklahoma through the morning hours, with additional isolated showers and perhaps a thunderstorm developing this afternoon in far eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Rainfall is expected to remain light, generally less than one-tenth of an inch.

Temperatures will remain well above seasonal averages through the weekend. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 80s to near 90 degrees across the Tulsa metro, Fort Smith, and Fayetteville areas through Saturday. Overnight lows will stay in the 60s.

Rain chances increase slightly early next week as cooler air moves into the region. By Tuesday and Wednesday, forecast highs are expected to ease back into the lower to mid-80s with nighttime lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving in foggy conditions, especially near waterways. The weather service recommends slowing down, using low-beam headlights, and allowing extra following distance.
