Tulsa, OK – A heat advisory will be in effect Sunday from 1 PM to 8 PM across portions of northeast Oklahoma and the Arkansas River Valley in west-central Arkansas. Residents are urged to take precautions while outdoors this weekend.
According to the US National Weather Service Tulsa, temperatures are expected to reach dangerous levels, with the heat index values climbing up to 108 degrees. The advisory highlights the potential for heat-related illnesses, emphasizing the need for staying hydrated and taking air-conditioned breaks.
The forecast for Tulsa includes continued high temperatures, with Saturday’s high reaching 96 degrees. On Sunday, the temperature will peak at 99 degrees, followed by 102 degrees on Monday and a scorching 105 degrees on Tuesday. The extreme heat is expected to persist into midweek, with Wednesday’s high forecasted at 102 degrees. Relief from the heat may come on Thursday with a slight chance of rain and a high of 95 degrees. The weather will cool slightly towards the weekend, with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.
