Tulsa, Oklahoma – A blistering heat wave will grip eastern Oklahoma beginning Monday, July 21, with Tulsa expected to hit 98°F and feel even hotter.

According to the National Weather Service, a Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. CDT Sunday, but dangerously high heat index values near 106°F will persist into Monday and possibly beyond. South winds up to 15 mph, with gusts reaching 25 mph, may add stress to vulnerable road surfaces like I-44 and U.S. Route 75 in Tulsa County, increasing the risk of pavement buckling or car trouble.

Monday will be sunny, dry, and oppressive — a pattern set to repeat all week. Daytime highs will hover between 98°F and 99°F through Thursday, and nightly lows won’t dip below the upper 70s. Those without air conditioning should seek cooling centers or public libraries. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit midday outdoor activity, and never leave children or pets in vehicles.

Tuesday through Saturday shows little relief. Tulsa stays sunny and dry, with only modest evening breezes. Winds calm slightly by midweek but the heat remains relentless. Friday and Saturday both approach 98°F again.

This marks the longest stretch of near-100° days Tulsa has faced this summer.

Five-Day Forecast: Tulsa, OK (Starting Monday, July 21)

  • Monday: Sunny, high near 98°F. Heat index up to 105°F. South winds up to 15 mph.
