Tulsa, Oklahoma – Triple-digit heat returns to eastern Oklahoma this week, with Tulsa expected to feel like 107°F by Tuesday, July 22. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning in effect until 8 p.m. Monday, and heat risks will continue well into the week.

According to the NWS in Tulsa, actual highs will reach 98°F Tuesday, but heat index values will soar into the danger zone, peaking between 105–107°F through Thursday. South winds may reach up to 20 mph by midday Tuesday, increasing fire risk and placing additional strain on vulnerable residents, pets, and outdoor workers.

Daytime highs will flirt with 100°F from Tuesday through Sunday, and overnight lows won’t dip below the mid-70s. That means limited relief during nighttime hours, particularly for homes without strong air conditioning.

Drivers on I-44 and U.S. 75 should prepare for pavement expansion and higher risk of tire blowouts during peak heat. Limit outdoor activity from noon to 6 p.m., stay hydrated, and check on elderly neighbors or those without cooling access.

The stretch from Wednesday to Friday will stay sunny, dry, and brutally hot, with a high of 99°F on Thursday and 100°F forecast Saturday.

More advisories could be issued later this week. Stay alert and prepared for sudden heat-related health risks.
