Tulsa, Oklahoma – Storms capable of producing large hail are expected to return to northeastern Oklahoma and parts of northwest Arkansas after midnight Wednesday, with the most severe conditions likely near the Oklahoma-Kansas border.
According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, a few strong to severe thunderstorms could develop late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, particularly affecting areas like Bartlesville, Miami, and Fayetteville. The main threats include hail up to half-dollar size and wind gusts near 70 mph, though tornado potential remains minimal.
Cities including Tulsa, Muskogee, and Fort Smith should prepare for rapidly changing conditions. While the most intense activity is forecast north of Tulsa, isolated storms may drift south by Thursday morning. Additional rounds of storms are possible Thursday afternoon, especially across far eastern Oklahoma.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, park vehicles under cover, and remain weather-aware overnight. Power outages and minor wind damage are possible in areas hit hardest.
Storm threats may linger into Thursday evening. Updated warnings or watches could be issued as conditions evolve.
