Tulsa, Oklahoma – Thunderstorms packing hail and wind gusts up to 70 mph are expected to roll across eastern Oklahoma tonight, with the highest risk between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., potentially disrupting travel and power across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, storms will develop this evening over northeast Oklahoma before tracking southeast into the early morning hours. A slight risk for severe weather covers Tulsa, Bartlesville, Muskogee, and McAlester, while areas near Fort Smith and Fayetteville, Arkansas, may also see strong activity overnight. The main concerns are half-dollar-sized hail and damaging winds between 60–70 mph. Tornado potential remains low.

Drivers along U.S. Highway 69 and I-44 should use caution after dark, especially from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. near Muskogee and Okmulgee. In southern Oklahoma, storms may persist as late as 8 a.m. near Hugo. Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor items, stay weather-aware, and have multiple ways to receive alerts during the night.

Storms should exit the region by early Sunday morning. More updates are expected if the severe threat increases or shifts.
