Tulsa, Oklahoma – Oklahoma’s heat will intensify Friday, July 18, with Tulsa climbing to 97 degrees and a sweltering heat index of 103° by mid-afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, Friday will be sunny and dry, with south winds between 5 and 10 mph. This marks the start of a multi-day heat streak that’s expected to linger through at least Wednesday, July 23. No rain is in sight, and heat safety is critical — especially for those working outdoors or driving long distances on sun-baked roads like Highway 75 or I-244.
Saturday and Sunday bring more of the same: clear skies and highs near 98°. Nights offer only minimal relief, with overnight lows staying well above 75°. Winds may gust up to 15 mph at times, but humidity will keep the heat index uncomfortably high. Hydration, light clothing, and limiting outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours are advised.
By Monday, temperatures again top 98°, pushing toward the season’s hottest stretch so far. Tuesday and Wednesday bring no reprieve — Tulsa could touch 100° for the first time this summer.
