Tulsa, Oklahoma – Drivers across northeastern Oklahoma should brace for more flooding as rain continues into Thursday, triggering extended weather alerts. A Flood Warning remains active until 12:45 p.m. CDT Thursday, putting low-lying roads like U.S. 75 and I-244 at risk.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, several rounds of heavy rain will drench the area through Thursday morning, with rainfall totals already exceeding 2 inches in parts of Tulsa County. An additional inch is possible, especially during early Thursday storms. Saturated soil means flash flooding is possible with little notice.

Motorists are urged to avoid water-covered roads, especially near creeks and underpasses. Use alternate routes and delay travel where possible. Officials warn that even shallow water can sweep away a vehicle. Emergency crews remain on standby in Broken Arrow, Bixby, Sand Springs, and Owasso as water levels rise.

By Thursday afternoon, skies begin to clear with highs near 78°F and dry conditions returning briefly into Friday and Saturday. However, more rain is expected Sunday into Monday night, with showers and thunderstorms likely.

Here’s a look at the extended five-day Tulsa area forecast:

  • Thursday: Morning storms, clearing by afternoon. High 78°F.
  • Friday: Chance of showers before 1 p.m., then mostly cloudy. High 72°F.
  • Saturday: Sunny and warm. High 72°F.
  • Sunday: Showers likely. High 71°F.
  • Monday Night: Showers return, 30% chance.
