Tulsa, OK — Oklahoma spring storms are set to bring strong thunderstorms and heavy rainfall to Tulsa beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, with conditions expected to last through 1 a.m. Saturday. Flash flooding could affect the I-44 corridor and surrounding neighborhoods during the overnight hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, a line of strong thunderstorms will sweep into eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas late Friday evening. The storms will bring frequent lightning, 20 to 40 mph winds, and persistent rainfall, increasing the risk of flooded roads, especially in low-lying areas of Tulsa.

By early Saturday, multiple waves of showers could produce rain totals between 3 to 5 inches, with localized areas reaching up to 8 inches. The heaviest rain is forecast for southeast Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas, but Tulsa remains in a zone of elevated concern due to urban runoff and highway drainage issues.

Saturday stays wet and windy, with thunderstorms continuing throughout the day and gusts as high as 40 mph. Dry weather returns by Sunday afternoon.
