Oklahoma Severe Weather Update: Monday Storms Bring 25 MPH Winds and Thunder to Tulsa

Tulsa, Oklahoma – High winds and another round of severe thunderstorms are set to hit Tulsa on Monday, threatening travel and outdoor plans across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, Monday’s storms will develop mainly after 1 p.m., bringing gusts up to 25 mph and a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms could be severe, especially during the afternoon and evening commute. Those in Tulsa and along US-64 should prepare for delays and hazardous driving conditions.

Localized flooding is possible in low-lying areas, and downed branches or isolated power outages can’t be ruled out. Emergency responders remain on alert with a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” still in effect for Eastern Oklahoma and parts of Northwest Arkansas. This marks the second day of heightened weather risks in the region, and the NWS warns that conditions could remain unstable into early Tuesday.

By Tuesday, skies should clear with a high near 79°F and calm winds out of the north. However, more rain chances return by Thursday. The risk for storms lingers into late week, so residents should stay weather-aware through Friday.
