Tulsa, Okla. – Thunderstorms will continue across eastern Oklahoma through Saturday night with a limited but notable tornado risk. While hail and damaging winds remain the main hazards, forecasters warn that a brief tornado cannot be ruled out in stronger cells.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, the highest storm activity will occur late this afternoon and evening, bringing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail. The tornado threat is rated as minimal, but conditions could still favor quick spin-up storms, especially along the I-44 corridor and areas near Muskogee and McAlester.

Residents are urged to stay alert, as storms could down trees, damage roofs, and cause localized power outages. Emergency officials recommend keeping multiple ways to receive warnings, moving vehicles under cover, and avoiding unnecessary travel until storms pass.

Storm intensity should decrease after midnight, with lingering showers possible into Sunday morning. Weather officials stress that more advisories may be issued if isolated tornado signatures develop.
