Tulsa, OK – A line of severe thunderstorms continues to impact northeastern and east-central Oklahoma early Sunday, prompting the National Weather Service to extend Severe Thunderstorm Watch 69 until 7 a.m. CDT.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, counties under watch include Adair, Cherokee, Craig, Delaware, Le Flore, Mayes, Muskogee, Ottawa, Rogers, Sequoyah, and Wagoner. Residents in Tulsa and surrounding areas should remain alert for damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes throughout the morning hours.

The watch spans into neighboring states as well, affecting parts of northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri. Cities such as Fayetteville, Fort Smith, and Bentonville in Arkansas, and Joplin, Springfield, and Branson in Missouri are also under the advisory. In Kansas, Cherokee County remains included.

These storms are capable of producing wind gusts over 60 mph and hail larger than one inch in diameter. Officials urge residents to secure outdoor objects and avoid travel unless necessary.

Stay indoors and monitor local alerts. Charge devices, avoid flooded roads, and take shelter in interior rooms if warnings are issued. Conditions are expected to improve after 7 a.m., but lingering showers and storm potential may persist.

Always follow weather radios and local authorities for the latest emergency updates.
