Oklahoma City, OK – The National Weather Service offices in Norman and Tulsa have both issued Frost Advisories through 9 a.m. CDT Friday, with temperatures expected to drop to near or below 32°F across much of central, eastern, and northeastern Oklahoma, extending into northwest Arkansas.
According to the NWS, widespread frost is expected to develop between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Friday, affecting communities from Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Stillwater to Fort Smith and Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Residents across the affected regions—including counties such as Kay, Garfield, Payne, Logan, Pottawatomie, Muskogee, Cherokee, and Benton—are advised to cover outdoor plants or bring them indoors overnight to prevent frost damage.
The coldest temperatures are anticipated in low-lying rural areas, where conditions are most favorable for frost formation. While skies will clear and temperatures will rise quickly after sunrise, this morning’s chill marks one of the first significant frosts of the season for much of Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
