Oklahoma City, OK – The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Freeze Watch covering nearly all of Oklahoma and portions of northern Texas as temperatures are expected to fall sharply Sunday night into Monday morning.

According to the latest forecast, overnight lows could dip as low as 23°F, with widespread frost and hard freeze conditions likely across the state. The freeze watch is in effect from Sunday evening through Monday morning, marking the coldest air of the season so far for many communities.

Meteorologists warn that the freezing temperatures may kill sensitive vegetation, end the growing season, and cause damage to unprotected outdoor plumbing. Residents are advised to take precautions now—cover tender plants, drip faucets, and bring outdoor pets inside before the cold sets in.

The cold front follows several mild November days and will bring a sharp reminder that winter is approaching quickly. Rural and low-lying areas could experience the most severe temperature drops early Monday.
