Oklahoma City, Okla. – Oklahoma is heading into a warm, sunny stretch this weekend as highs push into the upper 80s and skies remain clear through Sunday. Drivers and outdoor events will see little interruption, though gusty south winds may pick up by Saturday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma City will climb near 86 degrees Saturday with south winds up to 20 mph. Sunday looks even warmer, topping out at 88 degrees before another clear night drops temperatures into the mid-60s.

The mild pattern holds into Monday with mostly sunny skies and highs near 87, though clouds begin to build by late in the day. A slight chance of showers returns Tuesday, mainly before 1 p.m., as moisture briefly moves across central Oklahoma. Afternoon highs will cool slightly into the mid-80s before drier air brings sunshine back midweek.

Residents should stay mindful of breezy conditions this weekend, especially on highways where crosswinds could affect travel. With little rainfall expected until Tuesday, drought-sensitive areas may see continued dry soils.

Showers remain a low threat after Tuesday, with the National Weather Service calling for another round of sunshine and highs in the low 80s into late week.
