Oklahoma City, OK – Triple-digit heat will hit a peak Thursday in Oklahoma City, with highs near 100°F and a heat index climbing to 105°, creating dangerous conditions for outdoor workers, vulnerable populations, and pets. The hot stretch continues through the weekend with very little overnight relief and increasing fire danger across central and western parts of the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Wednesday will be sunny with a high near 94°F, but gusty south winds up to 23 mph will ramp up heat index values to near 100°F. By Thursday, the mercury rises to 99°F with stronger southerly winds driving real-feel temps above 105°F. No rain is expected, and skies will remain mostly clear through Sunday.

Sunday: Highs dip slightly to the mid-90s, but the heat persists under mostly sunny skies.

South winds and dry air are increasing wildfire concerns, especially in grassland areas west of I-35. Residents should limit strenuous activity, stay hydrated, and avoid open flames outdoors. The prolonged heat pattern may ease slightly early next week, but no major cooldown is expected.
