Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reports that its Impaired Driving Liaisons (IDLs) made 129 DUI arrests during a month-long enforcement push running through New Year’s Eve.

According to OHP, troopers conducted 21 enforcement events as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. Eight of those were ENDUI checkpoints, while the remaining were saturation patrols targeting impaired drivers statewide.

Officials say these targeted patrols continue to make “a direct impact on intoxicated driving” and are helping to keep Oklahoma’s roadways safer. The agency noted that the 129 arrests do not include additional DUI arrests made by other troopers and law enforcement agencies during the same period.

Troopers reminded drivers that intoxicated driving remains a preventable choice. With modern options such as rideshare apps and taxis available, OHP strongly encouraged residents to plan a sober ride before drinking.

“When we show up, the decision is no longer yours,” OHP stated. “It’s ours—and it ends with a trip to jail.”

The department also thanked law enforcement partners across the state who assisted with the year-end operations, emphasizing teamwork and shared responsibility for public safety.

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign is part of a national effort to reduce impaired driving crashes and fatalities, particularly during holiday celebrations when DUI incidents typically rise.
