Tulsa, OK – Dangerous heat will persist through the next couple of days for eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. A Heat Advisory is in effect until 9 PM today, with heat indices ranging between 105-109 degrees Fahrenheit.
According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, the advisory affects multiple cities, including Tulsa, Bartlesville, and Fayetteville. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak hours, and take frequent breaks in air-conditioned environments.
The forecast indicates that the heatwave will peak today with temperatures reaching 98 degrees in Tulsa. The heat will continue into Thursday with a high of 99 degrees before a slight reprieve on Friday when temperatures are expected to drop to 88 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday bring a chance of rain, with a 50% chance of showers on Saturday and a 40% chance on Sunday. This will offer temporary relief as temperatures drop to 79 degrees on Saturday and 86 degrees on Sunday.
However, the cooler weather will be short-lived. The heat is expected to return on Monday, with temperatures climbing back up to 98 degrees. Residents should continue to follow heat safety guidelines throughout the weekend and into next week.
