Tulsa, OK – Drivers across northeast Oklahoma, far northwest Arkansas, and the Arkansas River Valley may face foggy conditions tonight into Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tulsa.

The agency reported Thursday afternoon that there is a low to medium chance (10–50%) of visibility dropping to less than a mile in localized areas. These conditions are most likely to occur between midnight and 9 a.m. Friday, September 26.

According to the NWS, the fog could reduce visibility suddenly over short distances, creating hazardous travel conditions. Motorists are advised to slow down, use low beam headlights, and leave extra distance between vehicles during the morning commute.

The advisory specifically highlights areas of northeast Oklahoma, far northwest Arkansas—including Fayetteville and Bentonville—and the lower Arkansas River Valley. Tulsa, Fort Smith, and surrounding communities could also experience patchy fog.

The weather service emphasized that even a short stretch of dense fog can create dangerous driving conditions, particularly on highways and rural roads. Drivers are urged to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel Friday morning.
