Oklahoma – Warm sunshine spills across the Tulsa skyline this morning as a strong surge of spring air pushes temperatures well above normal. Commuters stepping outside will notice the early warmth already building across eastern Oklahoma.

Clear skies and steady south winds will help temperatures climb quickly toward 85°F this afternoon, making it one of the warmest days so far this March. Gusty winds near 25 mph could ripple across open fields and highways, especially along Interstate 44 and U.S. 75 during afternoon travel.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, the warm and breezy pattern holds through much of the day before clouds increase tonight. Temperatures will remain mild with lows near 67°F, signaling a more humid air mass settling across the region.

Storm chances begin building Tuesday afternoon. A 40 percent chance of thunderstorms develops as moisture from the Gulf moves northward. Temperatures still climb near 82°F, keeping the atmosphere unstable enough for scattered storms to form during the afternoon and evening.

Meteorologists are paying closer attention to Tuesday night as showers become more widespread. Rain becomes likely Tuesday night, and some thunderstorms may produce heavy bursts of rainfall as the system strengthens over eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

Rain continues into Wednesday with another 40 percent chance of showers before cooler air gradually arrives. Gusty winds could reach 30 mph at times during passing storms, briefly reducing visibility along busy routes including U.S. 169 and Highway 412.

After the midweek system moves out, sunshine returns quickly. Thursday turns noticeably cooler with highs near 66°F, offering a crisp break after the early spring warmth.

Warmer and drier weather returns heading toward the weekend, giving the Tulsa area another stretch of comfortable March weather.
