Cleveland, OH – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across Northeast Ohio through Saturday night, with lake effect snow creating challenging travel conditions. Snowfall rates could reach up to half an inch per hour, particularly in localized bands.
According to the National Weather Service, areas south of I-90, including southern Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties, could see 1 to 3 inches of additional snow accumulation. Lighter snowfall is expected closer to the lakeshore, but all affected regions should prepare for slippery roads and rapidly changing conditions.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution. The Ohio Department of Transportation advises motorists to check for updates at www.ohgo.com and avoid unnecessary travel.
Wind chills are forecast to dip below 10 degrees Saturday night, adding to the hazards. Visibility could vary dramatically within short distances due to narrow, intense snow bands.
Plan accordingly and allow extra time if traveling in impacted areas. For real-time updates, listen to NOAA Weather Radio or visit weather.gov.
