Toledo, OH – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Lucas County until 10 a.m. Sunday, as heavy snow and strong winds continue to impact the Toledo area this evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, snowfall totals are expected to reach 4 to 7 inches, with gusts up to 40 mph creating dangerous travel conditions overnight. The heaviest snow is forecast between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday, with snowfall rates near 1 inch per hour, leading to rapidly deteriorating visibility and slick roads.

Motorists are urged to avoid unnecessary travel, as roads will be snow-covered and hazardous. The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission advise drivers to check current travel conditions and heed all restrictions.

If travel is essential, drivers should carry an emergency kit with food, water, and a flashlight in case of delays or roadside emergencies.
