Cleveland, OH – A dangerous mix of snow, freezing rain, and sleet is set to impact northern Ohio starting Saturday afternoon, creating hazardous travel conditions. The National Weather Service warns that the system could bring ice accumulation and up to two inches of snow in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service, the winter storm will begin with rain early Saturday before transitioning into freezing rain and snow in the afternoon and evening. Roads, including I-90 and I-480, could become slick and treacherous, with reduced visibility and icy conditions expected. Wind gusts up to 17 mph may worsen the situation.
Saturday night, snowfall will intensify, and freezing rain may create a thin ice glaze, making sidewalks and roadways dangerous. Drivers are urged to use caution, allow extra travel time, and avoid unnecessary trips.
Sunday will see lingering snow showers in the morning before cloudy skies take over. Highs will remain in the low 30s through early next week, with another chance of snow showers on Tuesday.
