Cleveland, Ohio – Cleveland residents are waking up to two key weather concerns today: unsettled skies with a chance of showers and dangerous swimming conditions along Lake Erie.

The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement through 1 p.m. Sunday for Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake, and Ashtabula counties in Ohio, and northern Erie County in Pennsylvania. Forecasters warn of strong rip currents and hazardous waves, urging swimmers to stay out of the water. Currents can quickly pull swimmers offshore, especially near piers and sandbars.

On land, scattered showers will move through during the morning, with highs reaching near 67. Conditions improve quickly, as sunshine returns Monday with highs near 70, warming into the mid-to-upper 70s by Wednesday.

By midweek, Cleveland will enjoy several days of dry, sunny weather, providing perfect conditions for outdoor plans after the wet and hazardous start to Sunday.
