Cleveland, Ohio – Commuters across northern Ohio are dealing with a damp start to Wednesday as scattered showers linger into the morning, especially from Cleveland east toward the Pennsylvania line, before conditions gradually improve later in the day.
According to the National Weather Service office in Cleveland, light rain will persist through the morning hours across northeast Ohio, then taper off from southwest to northeast this afternoon. High temperatures today will struggle to rise much, topping out in the upper 30s to lower 40s under thick cloud cover.
Roads may remain slick at times in cities such as Cleveland, Mentor, Ashtabula, and Youngstown during the morning commute, particularly on untreated secondary roads. Farther west, including Toledo, Sandusky, and Mansfield, rainfall chances are lower and drying arrives sooner, though skies stay gray.
Conditions turn quieter Thursday as milder air pushes into the region. Highs are expected to climb into the upper 40s and lower 50s across much of northern Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron, and Canton, with skies remaining mostly cloudy. The warmer temperatures should help limit travel issues, though damp ground and lingering clouds may keep it feeling cool.
Residents are advised to allow extra time for morning travel today and remain alert for changing conditions. Additional updates or advisories may be issued as the midweek system exits and the late-week warm-up continues.
