Wilmington, Ohio – Warm winds and a dry breeze gave Wilmington residents a taste of summer on Saturday, but that calm won’t last long. Showers are expected to return by Monday night, with more persistent rain likely into Tuesday morning, raising the risk of slick roads on U.S. 68 and throughout Clinton County.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Saturday will remain mostly sunny with highs near 71°F and west winds gusting up to 23 mph. Sunday follows suit with another sunny day and highs in the low 70s before conditions begin shifting. By Monday afternoon, a 30% chance of showers creeps in, mainly after 2 p.m., with rain becoming more likely by late Monday night into Tuesday.
Travelers should prepare for a wet Tuesday morning commute. The NWS reports a 70% chance of rain Tuesday, with a high near 62°F and clouds dominating the skies. Heavier downpours are possible Tuesday night and again on Wednesday, when the chance of precipitation climbs to 80%.
If you’re heading out early in the week, allow extra travel time and avoid low-lying areas during heavier rain. While no severe weather is currently expected, saturated roads and reduced visibility could pose minor hazards, especially during morning rush hours.
Looking ahead, Wednesday night remains wet with an 80% chance of evening showers and lows near 48°F. Thursday may offer some sun, but a 50% rain chance still lingers. Friday continues the pattern with another round of possible showers and highs in the mid-60s.
Stay tuned to local alerts as conditions develop and be ready for a soggy stretch through midweek.
