Cleveland, OH – Windy conditions are sweeping across northern Ohio, prompting caution for residents in cities like Cleveland, Akron, and Canton through Monday evening.
According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, southwest winds are expected to gust between 35 and 45 mph throughout the day, particularly affecting Northeast Ohio and parts of Northwest Pennsylvania. These gusts may cause unsecured outdoor items to shift or blow away and could create hazardous driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles.
Temperatures across the region will remain mild for late March, ranging from the mid-40s in Toledo and Erie to low 50s in Canton and Youngstown. Despite the warmth, the main concern remains the wind. Ashtabula, Sandusky, and Mansfield are also expected to see sustained gusty conditions, with peak wind speeds forecast to reach 44 mph in Findlay and 43 mph in Marion.
Forecasters note a low chance of isolated rain showers developing this afternoon, mainly within the snowbelt region, including areas near Ashtabula and Erie.
Residents are advised to secure loose objects outdoors and remain alert for falling tree limbs or brief power disruptions. Wind conditions are expected to subside gradually by late evening.
