Wilmington, Ohio – A wet start to the week could disrupt travel plans and outdoor activities across southern Ohio as multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms push into the region starting Monday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a line of showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop after 2 p.m. Monday, bringing a 70% chance of precipitation and higher rainfall amounts in isolated areas. Winds may reach up to 11 mph, with rain expected to linger through Monday night and intensify by Tuesday.
By Tuesday afternoon, storms could become more widespread, with a 90% chance of rainfall and possible thunderstorms after 2 p.m. This system could drop more than half an inch of rain, especially along SR-73 and US-68, affecting both local and through traffic.
Wednesday offers little relief. After brief clearing early in the day, another round of thunderstorms is likely by the afternoon. Highs will remain in the mid to upper 70s, but flooding risks may increase in low-lying areas and along rural roadways in Clinton County.
Motorists should avoid travel during heavy rain, especially during Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon commutes. Use headlights in low visibility, never drive through standing water, and have alternate routes planned.

- Thursday: Mostly sunny, high near 84°F.
- Thursday Night: Chance of storms late, low near 69°F.
- Friday: Slight chance of rain, otherwise warm and dry.
- Saturday: Chance of showers, high near 79°F.
