Cincinnati, OH – A powerful storm system is expected to impact much of Ohio late Wednesday night into early Thursday, bringing the threat of damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and flash flooding across the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, OH, Level 3 (enhanced) risks for both severe storms and excessive rainfall are forecast for southwest Ohio, including cities like Cincinnati, Dayton, and Versailles. These storms are predicted to ramp up Wednesday evening and persist through the overnight hours into Thursday morning.
The primary threats include damaging wind gusts, a few tornadoes, and flash flooding, particularly in areas already prone to high water. Secondary threats include large hail and localized river flooding by the weekend as storm systems continue to roll through the region. Level 2 risks extend northeast through Columbus and Newark.
