Ohio commuters are driving into a wall of dense fog before sunrise, with visibility dropping near zero across Columbus. Temperatures sit at 33 degrees, and patchy freezing fog is forming on bridges and overpasses. Elevated stretches of I-70, I-71, and I-670 could turn slick through midmorning.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 11 a.m. Visibility may fall to a quarter mile or less at times. Forecasters warn that temperatures hovering near freezing could create icy spots on untreated roads, especially on ramps and elevated surfaces. Calm winds and saturated air are allowing the fog to thicken in low-lying areas and along river valleys.

Conditions gradually improve late morning as fog lifts and clouds remain in place. Highs reach near 51 degrees this afternoon, helping reduce the ice risk. Tonight turns partly cloudy with lows in the mid-30s.

A warming trend accelerates Tuesday with highs near 56 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. By Wednesday, February 18, rain becomes likely and temperatures surge to 65 degrees. Southwest winds could gust near 30 mph as a steady rain moves through central Ohio. No snow or ice is expected midweek as the February thaw takes hold.

Looking ahead into President’s Day Week, highs stay above normal in the upper 50s to mid-60s before a slight cooldown next weekend. The 6–10 day outlook favors continued mild weather, bringing early spring vibes to much of central Ohio.
