Wilmington, OH – A round of strong thunderstorms and heavy rain is expected to move into Wilmington and surrounding parts of Ohio beginning Saturday, with impacts lasting through midweek.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, rain and thunderstorms will develop by late Saturday night, bringing an 80% chance of precipitation and wind gusts up to 29 mph. Isolated stronger storms may produce gusty winds and brief downpours, especially along U.S. Route 68 and into Clinton County. Residents should prepare for reduced visibility and slippery roads during peak storm hours.
Showers continue Sunday into Monday with a 90% chance of rain Sunday night. Some areas could receive between a quarter and half an inch of rain over the weekend. While no severe weather is currently forecast, storm intensity could increase, particularly late Sunday. Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time.
High temperatures will hover in the lower 70s through Sunday before dipping to the low 60s early next week. Winds will remain elevated, gusting near 30 mph on Saturday and Sunday.
