Cleveland, Ohio – Rain returns to Northeast Ohio Tuesday evening with a 90% chance of thunderstorms after 11 p.m., and Wednesday looks even wetter.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers could begin around 5 p.m. Tuesday in Cleveland and surrounding areas, followed by thunderstorms overnight into early Wednesday. Rain will persist into the morning commute, with new accumulation between a quarter and half an inch expected. Winds will shift from northeast to east at 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday will stay soggy with more showers expected through the day and evening. Highs near 65°F and consistent rain could cause minor street flooding in low-lying areas, especially along I-90 and near Lake Erie shoreline routes. Winds may gust northward as a cold front pushes in.

The wet pattern continues into Thursday with another 70% chance of rain, particularly after midnight Wednesday night. Temperatures will stay in the upper 50s to low 60s for the next few days, keeping the region cooler than typical May averages. Residents should avoid unnecessary travel during peak rain times and check drainage around homes.
