Cincinnati, OH – A widespread severe weather outbreak is expected across much of western and central Ohio beginning tonight, bringing significant threats to life and property.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the most dangerous window for storms runs from 9 p.m. Tuesday through 3 a.m. Wednesday, though activity could begin as early as 7 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. The primary concerns include damaging straight-line winds, possible tornadoes, large hail, and localized flash flooding.

Areas most at risk include Cincinnati, Dayton, Wilmington, and Columbus, all of which fall within a Level 3 (Enhanced Risk) severe weather zone. The red-shaded region on the storm map highlights where tornadoes are most likely to develop overnight. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, charge devices, and enable weather alerts before the storms arrive.

A second, longer-term concern is a multi-day flooding event forecast from Thursday into early Sunday. Rainfall totals may approach 6 inches in parts of Ohio, with significant flooding and river rises expected statewide by the weekend.

Officials stress the importance of staying weather-aware and monitoring local updates as conditions evolve.
