Wilmington, OH – Rain will move into southwestern and central Ohio tonight and persist through Tuesday night, before a strong cold front ushers in sharply colder air midweek, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington.

Forecasters say the region will see steady rain develop late Monday and continue through Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. After the front passes, temperatures will drop quickly, with highs falling from the low 50s Tuesday to the 30s by Thursday.

“Brisk and colder conditions will ensue for Wednesday and Thursday,” the NWS said, noting that wind chills could make it feel even colder during the Thanksgiving holiday period.

The extended outlook shows cold but dry weather holding through Friday, with the next chance of precipitation returning Saturday. Overnight lows through the end of the week are expected to dip into the 20s, signaling the coldest stretch of the season so far.

Residents should prepare for wet roads early in the week and a winter-like chill heading into the holiday weekend.
