Dayton, OH – After a dry stretch across Ohio, rain and thunderstorms are returning this week, with chances persisting through Tuesday night. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington reports an unsettled weather pattern that could bring widespread rainfall and periods of strong storms.

According to the NWS, rain chances increase today across central and southern Ohio, with areas such as Cincinnati, Dayton, and Chillicothe seeing precipitation probabilities between 50–80%. Columbus shows slightly lower odds, around 37%, but is still included in the forecast.

By Tuesday night, forecasters expect rainfall totals of 1 to 1.5 inches across much of the region, with some localized spots, including parts of Franklin, Carroll, and Adams counties, potentially seeing up to 2 inches. Stronger thunderstorms could also bring gusty winds at times.

The unsettled weather pattern is expected to linger into midweek, raising the potential for travel delays, slick roads, and reduced visibility during heavy downpours. NWS officials encourage residents to monitor forecasts and remain alert for storm watches or warnings if conditions intensify.
