Cleveland, Ohio – Residents in northeast Ohio should brace for soggy conditions beginning late Tuesday as a multi-day stretch of rain and cooler temperatures rolls in.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, scattered showers are expected to develop by Tuesday evening, continuing intermittently through Friday, May 23. Highs will remain in the upper 50s to low 60s, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s across much of the region.

Rain chances increase significantly Wednesday, with steady showers forecast in Cleveland, Akron, and surrounding counties. Roadways like I-71 and Route 8 could become slick during commutes, especially in the early morning and late evening hours.

Thursday and Friday are expected to remain damp, with highs struggling to reach the low 60s. The extended wet pattern could affect outdoor plans, yard work, and field sports across Cuyahoga, Summit, and Lake counties.

Residents are advised to keep umbrellas handy, check windshield wipers, and avoid flooded intersections. Cooler-than-average temps will also make it feel more like early spring than late May.

More updates are expected as the system develops. Rain chances remain high through at least Friday night.
