Cleveland, OH – A warming trend sweeping across northern Ohio is expected to bring above-average temperatures and intermittent rainfall through Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

According to NWS Cleveland, highs will climb into the upper 60s and low 70s from Friday through Sunday in cities such as Cleveland, Akron, and Toledo. Temperatures may peak around 72°F in areas like Fremont, Marion, and Findlay. The trend continues a shift from cooler early-spring norms, with highs running nearly 10 degrees above average.

Rain chances will increase significantly across the region starting Friday, with a 75% or greater chance of precipitation in many locations. Sunday and Monday will see the most widespread rain, with some areas like Elyria, Ravenna, and Wooster experiencing 85% or higher probabilities of rainfall. The NWS notes the possibility of storms developing on Sunday.

Residents should prepare for changing road conditions and reduced outdoor visibility during rainfall periods. It’s advised to monitor local forecasts, secure outdoor items, and be cautious while driving in wet conditions.

By Tuesday, temperatures are expected to drop back into the 40s and 50s, ending the early-spring heatwave. Rain is projected to taper off by Monday night.
