Columbus, OH – Patchy freezing rain and drizzle may create hazardous road conditions across Ohio early Saturday, particularly south of I-70.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, freezing precipitation could develop before sunrise, causing slick spots on bridges, overpasses, and elevated surfaces. Warmer temperatures later in the morning may transition the precipitation into rain, reducing ice concerns for areas south of I-70.

Motorists should exercise caution, especially in west-central and central Ohio, where icy patches may persist into the afternoon. The highest probability of at least 0.01 inches of ice accretion is forecast for northern and central Ohio.

Drivers should reduce speed, allow extra distance between vehicles, and remain alert for slippery conditions. Those traveling early Saturday should plan for possible delays.
