Columbus, Ohio – Drivers in Central Ohio should expect patchy fog through early Sunday morning, especially near low-lying roads and major corridors like I-270 and I-71. Visibilities may dip below a quarter-mile before 9 a.m., increasing travel risk in suburban and rural stretches.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, calm overnight air and high humidity will create dense fog pockets around sunrise. By midday Sunday, skies turn mostly sunny with highs reaching 81°F in Columbus, slightly cooler than Saturday’s 85°F peak. Winds remain light, offering little relief from the warmth until Monday.

While Sunday’s heat will ease somewhat, the region enters a drier, cooler stretch starting Monday with daytime highs in the mid-70s and overnight lows dipping to the low 50s. The area stays mostly clear through Wednesday with no rain in the forecast. This prolonged dry spell offers a welcome reprieve for outdoor events, but residents should stay cautious during foggy mornings and keep headlights on low beam.

Those with early travel plans Sunday should leave extra time and check for reduced visibility alerts before heading out. Conditions improve significantly after mid-morning.

No weather advisories are currently posted, but the National Weather Service may issue fog advisories early Sunday if visibility worsens overnight.
