Ohio – Darkening clouds and a few rumbles are already developing across central Ohio this afternoon, and conditions could quickly intensify with isolated strong storms capable of hail before sunset.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a marginal risk for severe weather is in place through this evening. Hail is the primary concern, though gusty winds may also develop as storms strengthen. A few cells could briefly reduce visibility and create slick pavement during peak travel.

Across Columbus, Dublin, and Grove City, temperatures climb near 69°F today with a slight chance of storms increasing after mid-afternoon. Roads like I-70, I-71, and I-270 may become wet in bursts, especially if heavier showers pass through. Plan extra time and stay alert for rapidly changing conditions.

Saturday brings a calmer break with decreasing clouds and highs near 64°F. That quiet stretch sets up a sharp warmup Sunday, when temperatures surge to around 80°F under mostly sunny skies. It will feel more like late spring than March.

Meteorologists now tracking the next system say storms could redevelop Sunday evening into the night. Showers become likely, with a 60% chance of rain and thunderstorms. Damaging winds and hail return as the main threats.

By early Monday, lingering showers may slow the morning commute, with highs dropping to around 49°F. Cooler air settles in quickly, and skies clear Monday night as temperatures fall near 30°F.

Tuesday brings sunshine and a rebound to the mid-50s, continuing the back-and-forth spring pattern.
