Wilmington, OH – A strong cold front moving through the region will bring two rounds of gusty winds and scattered showers to Ohio and nearby areas Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
The first round of gusts is expected between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m., as showers and embedded thunderstorms move from west to east. A brief lull will follow before a second round of gusts—up to 45 mph—develops from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. behind the departing front.
Forecasters warn that the strongest winds could cause isolated tree damage and minor power outages, especially during the afternoon as cooler air rushes in. Temperatures will fall steadily through the day, marking the arrival of more typical late-October conditions.
Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items, such as umbrellas and trash bins, and use caution when driving high-profile vehicles.
